Annual Day of Hope is Here!

April 2, 2025— A Day to Uplift

The annual National Day of Hope is a time dedicated to spreading faith, love, and compassion, inspired by the mission of St. Jude League Community Development (SJLCD). Rooted in the belief that hope has the power to uplift and transform lives, each year this special day serves as a reminder that even in the face of hardship, faith and community can bring light to those in need. The observance of a Day of Hope aligns with the legacy of St. Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of difficult and desperate cases. St. Jude has long been a symbol of hope for those facing seemingly impossible situations, offering spiritual intercession and encouragement never to give up.

At SJLCD, the Day of Hope focuses our attention on ways we can each support individuals and communities in need through service and generosity. Whether through charitable giving, acts of kindness, or spreading encouragement, this day reminds us all that hope is alive and within reach. The core mission focus of our Claretian-led initiatives are empowered by hope:

Education and Youth Empowerment
We believe in the power of education to break the cycle of poverty. Our youth programs, like Claretian Associates, provide tutoring, mentoring, and leadership development to help young people reach their full potential.

Housing and Shelter Assistance
A home is more than just four walls—it’s stability, security, and hope. Casa Corazón provides refugee families with safe housing during their most vulnerable time, helping them rebuild their lives while seeking legal asylum.

Community Development

The newest mission started in Vancouver is not just about rebuilding a parish and community; it is about reigniting hope in a community that has long been searching for light.

Food Security and Nutrition
No one should have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table. Across the nation, our food pantries are run by passionate volunteers dedicated to ensuring families don’t go hungry. With recent unplanned loss of vital subsidies, only with your help can we provide healthy meals to those in need, often living in food deserts.

Mental Health and Wellness
Emotional and mental well-being are essential for a thriving community. We partner with the Claret Center where they focus attention on the mental, physical, and spiritual health. Your support helps provide counseling, support groups, and wellness programs for those seeking emotional and mental wellness.

A Day to Give Back and Inspire Change

The Day of Hope is about raising awareness, spirits and however possible, support for the programs SJLCD supports. The day is a celebration of the resilience and generosity of our community. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps strengthen our programs and expand our reach. Together, we are building a future rooted in hope and opportunity.

Join Us in Spreading Hope

As we reflect on the impact that Day of Hope can have in the lives of the 850,000 deserving spirits assisted by SJLCD and the Claretians, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has supported our mission. Whether you make a one-time or monthly gift, create a personal fundraising page, or simply share our story, YOU are a vital part of the SJLCD family.

Together, we are turning hope into action — and making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
